Warehouse Operatives

As a Warehouse Operative you are expected to deal with all goods and products that arrive into the warehouse. This role could include a number of different duties depending on the warehouse, however, in most cases it involves moving a large amount of heavy goods within the warehouse and order picking and packing.

Warehouse Operatives are the hub of any warehouse. As a Warehouse Operative you are expected to deal with all goods and products that arrive into the warehouse. This role could include a number of different duties depending on the warehouse or company, however, in most cases it involves moving a large amount of heavy goods within the warehouse and order picking and packing.

As being a Warehouse Operative can be a very physically demanding job, it is essential to have a good level of fitness. On top of this, it is paramount that Warehouse Operatives are able to work efficiently due to the fast paced nature of the dynamic warehouse floor.

 

Typical Duties

  • Taking responsibility for delivery of goods and supplies
  • Checking for damage on items and also any missing items within orders
  • Moving, sometimes heavy, stock often by hand but also potentially by lifting gear or a forklift truck
  • Picking and packing orders
  • Making sure accurate stock records are kept up to date
  • Keeping accurate and up to date paperwork
